Building rapport and trust means establishing a relationship of mutual understanding and agreement with others. When you build rapport and trust with people, they appreciate your point of view, understand your feelings, and listen attentively to what you say. It is imperative for you to build a rapport and trust the interviewer because this holds the key to succeeding in interviews.

How to handle an interview? It is extremely important to give convincing answers to the interviewer. However, building a rapport and trusting the interviewer is beyond framing technically correct answers. There are several other aspects such as body language and behavior that can help you improve rapport and develop trust during the course of the interview. You should demonstrate positive body language and appropriate behavior during the interview.

 

There are three different kinds of rapport-building activities:

Mimicking: It involves imitating another person’s body language or voice patterns. Imitating another person can cause the other person to feel uncomfortable.
